Why international faxes fail, and how to avoid it
Most failed international faxes have one of three causes: the number is in the wrong format, the recipient's office is closed and the fax machine is off, or the destination is not supported by the service. All three are easy to avoid.
1. Write the number in international format
On a phone you would dial an exit code first: 011 from the US and Canada, 0011 from Australia, 00 from the UK and most of Europe. Online you skip that and use + instead:

Italy is the classic exception: the leading 0 stays. The numbers above are examples only.
2. Check the time zone
A fax sent at 3 PM in Chicago arrives in the evening in Berlin and in the early morning of the next day in Tokyo. Many offices switch their fax machines off outside business hours. Use the schedule option to send the fax at 9 AM recipient time, even if you are asleep then.
3. Make sure the country is supported
